The first Introductory Summer School took place in Sligo on 20th, 21st and 22nd July 2011 with the support of the Office of Nursing and Midwifery Services Director (HSE) and the Hospice Friendly Hospitals Programme. The purpose of the school was to advance knowledge and skills in emancipatory practice development, focusing specifically on end of life care. The programme was developed in conjunction with the International Practice Development Collaborative.
The report details the background of the summer school, processes and tools used, and evaluates the programme with input from participants and facilitators.
